What should you expect to find in Ponte d'Arbia? Here I hope to give you some answers.
Ponte d'Arbia is not one of the most famous places in Tuscany. Actually, a lot of people around Siena don't know that we exist. But here we are, and we care about our pilgrims. I thought I could sum up all the things you can find here, so you won't be unprepared.
Where to eat
Ristorante il Ponte: One of the busiest restaurant around here, literally beside our main place. Here you can find typical Tuscany dishes and really good pizzas. I would suggest you to make a reservation, especially in the weekends. Their phone number is +39 0577806989. Closed on Monday and Thursday.
Telefono 0577 370002.
A modo mio: A cafè but also diner when you can relax after all that walking, eating home made pici, There's also a small section of groceries. Reservations are highly reccomended by calling +39 0577 590385. Open in summer from 7am to 10pm, closed on sunday.
Spostarsi
There isn't a train station in Ponte d'Arbia, the only public trasportarions are buses. You can find all the timetables on www.autolineetoscane.it, or in the app Tabnet, che è anche l’unico modo per acquistare i biglietti.
If you come from Siena, I would not reccoment taking a taxi, which is something I see quite often. It's going to cost you a fortune.
As for luggage transport, the main service is Bags Free. You can visit their website https://bags-free.com/.
More services
Farmacia Ponte d’Arbia: A drugstore where you can also find pet food, cosmetics and everything for babies. Open from 9am to 1 pm, and from 4pm to 8pm. Closed on Sunday.
“I cinque archi”: A community cooperative that serves both the local residents and the travelers who pass through here all year round. Founded to enhance the territory, promote its products, and support the citizens, it also manages Bar H as part of its various projects, where it has set up a community store and help desk. You can read more on their website.
ATM: You can find the ATM right next to the Bar H entrance.
Hairdresser: For your style "emergencies", we also have an hairdresser.
Società Agricola Aiellino: A km 0 fruit and vegetables shop. Not always open, but it's worth a try if you are looking for the freshest.
In the map below you can find some other "places of interest", such as the bike repair station or an area with tables where you can relax by the river. If you have any other suggestions or would like to know more about Ponte d’Arbia, don’t hesitate to ask!
